Your Business from a Process point of view ![]() According to Harvard Strategy guru Michael Porter, every business is a series of processes from sales and marketing to customer service1. Based on this process view he formulated the Value Chain depiction (see above) as a generic model of businesses everywhere and in every industry. Types of Processes There are two types of processes in every business: primary processes (those that directly produce revenue) and secondary or overhead processes (those that directly produce costs). Most businesses are fairly good at the former, but, unfortunately, not so good at the latter. This is where Infrastructure comes in. Managing Overhead Processes Each of our strategic partners is a specialist in the management of one or more of these secondary processes: human resources, communications, data and technology management, accounting. Our service and project managers are specialists at managing the integration and delivery of process support services. Together, we can implement and manage these processes more efficiently and effectively than the average individual business. We provide expert support allowing you to maintain effective control. 1.
